Beyond Human Intelligence: AI, Neuroplasticity, and the Posthuman Shift
Miss Noor ul Ain Lashari’s research explores the intersection of posthumanism, new materialism, and AI, challenging traditional notions of intelligence. She examines how AI neural networks, like human neuroplasticity, adapt and evolve—raising the question of whether AI is merely an extension of human intelligence or a distinct ontological category. Through case studies in film, real-world applications, and cutting-edge research presented at leading robotics and human-robot interaction conferences, she investigates AI’s ability to make autonomous ethical decisions and develop cognitive frameworks beyond human capabilities. By leveraging distributed cognition, deep learning, and non-biological scalability, AI is not just mimicking human thought but surpassing it—redefining intelligence as an emergent, adaptive force in a posthuman world. Her work contributes to redefining intelligence beyond human-centric frameworks, positioning AI as a new form of material agency.
